La RIERADA visita a la FIRA de la CANDELERA de Molins de Rei

El primer fin de semana de febrero se celebra la tradicional Feria de La Candalera (La Candelaria) una colorida fiesta fechada en el punto medio del invierno, anunciaba el inicio del buen tiempo y el inicio de los preparativos de las siembras y animales (también tiene un origen heredado de costumbres romanas y posteriormente se le dio un carácter religioso).
Esta festividad ha sido y sigue siendo muy celebrada en Molins de Rei hasta el punto que se ha considerado fiesta tradicional de interés nacional. En ella originariamente se comerciaba con semillas, planteles, arboles, animales, herramientas y utensilios, productos locales… hoy día la tradición ha evolucionado y sigue manteniedose muy viva.

La propuesta es, saliendo de La Floresta, haremos la tradicional ruta de los que se acercaban a Molins des de la zona de Sant Cugat y Cerdanyola, una bonita excursión resiguiendo la Riera de Vallvidrera, conocida como La Rierada, hasta Molins de Rei. El torrente, afluente del río Llobregat, nace bajo los cerros de las masías de Can Pasqual i Can Castellví y es el único curso donde el agua circula permanentemente en el Parque de Collserola.

El camino que seguiremos nos llevará por un bonito bosque de ribera bastante bien conservado que nos transportará a parajes del Montseny o el Berguedà por su sorprendente vegetación y saltos de agua, lugar de recreo estival de las vecinos de la zona. A ratos sombrío y exuberante nos hará olvidar que estamos en los alrededores de Barcelona.
Llegaremos para la hora de comer a Molins de Rei y darnos un paseo por la Feria, la vuelta será de nuevo andando hasta La Floresta (probablemente será una vuelta nocturna) o en tren hasta Barcelona.

The first weekend of February the traditional Feria de La Candalera (La Candelaria) is celebrated, a colorful festival dated at the midpoint of winter, announcing the beginning of good weather and the start of preparations for planting and animals (it also has an origin inherited from Roman customs and later given a religious character).

This festival has been and continues to be highly celebrated in Molins de Rei to the point that it has been considered a traditional festival of national interest. In it, originally seeds, plants, trees, animals, tools and utensils, local products were traded … today the tradition has evolved and is still very much alive.

The proposal is, leaving from La Floresta, we will do the traditional route of those who came to Molins from the Sant Cugat and Cerdanyola area, a beautiful excursion following the Riera de Vallvidrera, known as La Rierada, to Molins de Rei. The stream, a tributary of the Llobregat river, is born under the hills of the farmhouses of Can Pasqual and Can Castellví and is the only course where the water circulates permanently in the Collserola Park.

The path that we will follow will take us through a pretty well-preserved riverside forest that will transport us to places of Montseny or Berguedà due to its surprising vegetation and waterfalls, a place of summer recreation for the residents of the area. At times gloomy and exuberant it will make us forget that we are in the surroundings of Barcelona.

We will arrive at Molins de Rei for lunch and take a walk through the Fair, the return will be again walking to La Floresta (it will probably be a night tour) or by train to Barcelona.
